Way after sunset

September 15, 2018 by Eve Ilsen

I am grateful that as the sun sets earlier, and shabbos ends earlier, that it also begins earlier.

I sigh in relief and lay down all the cares, to be handled by the Ribono shel Olam, and on shabbos I rest.

I had the double delight of a visit from a cousin, and from a friend who brings healing. Grateful.

The new cat-resident is finding her way in the house. She likes company now and then, and enjoys an occasional nap on a lap. She is basically independent, and likes her own company best...very different from Mazal and Bracha. And I suspect that this is a good thing, since her own dear person is gone. She may be reluctant to become attached once more to a human.

I do enjoy her presence.

And by now I am accustomed to having some living being around to take care of, at least a little...

We are now in that liminal period between Rosh HaShanah, literally the "head of the year", and Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement. If I have done anything that has hurt, offended or distressed any of you reading these pages, either here or in another context, I ask that you let me know and give me a chance to make amends.

Blessings for a good week.
