It is just after midnight, and I have just arrived home.
I bless the friend who picked me up so late at the airport.
I am happy to be in my back office, and ready to go upstairs to bed.
Earlier in the day, I had the joy of visiting with a friend I have known since my first day in high school.
I'd put aside a special jar of peach preserves as a gift for her, and discovered it in the trunk of the rental car as I returned it.  I ended up wrapping it in plastic and burying it among soft stuff in my suitcase.  I have not yet checked to see how the preserves have survived the trip, not to speak of all it near neighbors.

I have the optimistic intention to make it to morning minyan.
We'll see.
Blessings for a good night's sleep.
