of the week already; tilting towards shabbos.
Today, for the first time in ages, there was no cat-mess to clean up in the morning.
Praises and gratitude to the cats!
I had the delight of visiting with old friends who are in town from New York.
I got to see things in my home/in my mind through the fresh eyes of others who are looking for the first time: a sketch I did of Zalman singing niggunim with a cat on his lap; a photo of the two of us dancing at our wedding; the photo of him seated, looking so Hassidic and stern and rabbinical, while there I am in the background, oblivious, biting into an apple...
I also got to hear a little of what they are engaged in.
And got to see the development of the painting of my friend staying downstairs.
And to brew up some quarts of Australian mixture, which helps an older friend of mine to breathe; and also some tapioca pudding for her, which is just for pure treat.
And arrange at last a visit from family.
From extremely peaceful and quiet, the house is starting to buzz with friends and family.
What a gift to the spirit , to be able to share these times with people of good heart.
