...shift gears for all of shabbos.
It was a very quiet, peaceful day. Last night, a new small early minyan: lovely. And a quiet night after.
Today, a brisk walk, meeting neighbor doggies. An afternoon of reading the sedra and other things---and no news.
This evening, an excursion with a friend to a nearby cafe where a jazz group were doing good music.
And the best surprise: looking out the back windows to the garden just at dusk, two large bucks settled down at the edge of the trees, perhaps making their bed in my garden for the night. I hope I waken early enough to see if they are still there.
Years ago, when my stepson Shlomo Barya was visiting, he was out back when a doe stepped into the yard. He took a handful of birdseed, and stood very still at the edge of the deck. I watched in wonder as the doe slowly approached, and ate the seed out of his hand.
Wishing us all a good, sweet and effective week.
