Setting forth

October 26, 2017 by Eve Ilsen

So far, no snow sticking in Boulder.  We will see what has happened in the morning.
The maps are already in the car.  The cellphone is charged.  The friend who will be housesitting reminded me to take some hard-boiled eggs for protein on the road.  I decided that the Torah portion was too large to copy here; surely they have a copy machine there.  Or maybe we will read it aloud from the one book that I will bring.  It is such an intense story.
I have been trying to gather material and concentrate on this weekend all week---and it just would not happen.
It is all happening tonight:  I am getting really excited.  And the sedra is the perfect one, I'm sure:  Lech Lecha, take yourself forth...I would be willing to bet that many of the people who reside at Lama now have, at some point in their lives, heard a call that they had to follow right out of their prior existence into unknown places.

I will keep my journal with me, and no doubt write in it Saturday night.
But I will not be taking this laptop, and so there will be a hiatus on this blog not only for Erev Shabbos, Friday night, as usual, but also Motz'ei Shabbos, Saturday night.  I hope to give a full report Sunday night, when I return home---b'li neder.
(not swearing)

I wish us all a blessed shabbos.  Good night.
