I lost it!
I will re-write it:
I am in the midst of the real preparations for being away from home for three weeks: supplying the house with cat food and litter; finding lightweight long underwear; going to the bank; writing details for my friend the housesitter; checking with the veteranarian; getting prescriptions filled early; counting out daily supplements into mini-baggies; finding my small travel Siddur; bringing the next three weekly Torah readings down to the copy machine; arranging a ride to the airport at four in the morning...
One of the things I will be doing tonight is boxing some warm clothing---extra gloves, scarves, long undies, sweaters, hats, blankets---to send to the stalwart people who continue peaceful demonstration at Standing Rock against the oil pipeline that would snake beneath the river, the Reservation's only source of water. When I find out where to send, I will post it on this site.
The other thing I will be doing is VOTING. Tonight I will be re-reading the information on all the ballot initiatives, making decisions, praying, and doing my civic duty.
Meanwhile, a few feet away on either side of me is a dozing cat, holding the space and keeping me grounded, and reminding me that I wanted to go to bed early to see if it might help me remember my dreams more vividly in the morning. (Hard time dragging them up through the veils these days.)
Blessings; back on Saturday night. I wish everybody a good shabbos-beginning-again.
I lost it!
